Supporting Astypalean Youth!
Kallichoron Art Boutique Hotel introduced the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) “Room2Give” initiative in 2015, to support local community projects for children and young adults and cultural activities where possible.
Since then, Kallichoron with the help from its visitors, has actively been involved in the following activities:
We provided the courtyard area of the Astypalean Nursery with equipment and toys, and continuously support of the teachers and the "Parents and Guardians Association" efforts to improve existing infrastructure.
We've enriched the children's lending library of the Astypalea Nursery.
We support the voluntary work of the teacher Stella Papadopoulou at the Narkisseios Municipal Library of Astypalea.
We organized a day of creative work and painting with the painter and artist, Gefso Papadakis, on "Painting my dream world".
We actively support the participation of the students of Astypalea in the Vivliodromies, as well as the Astypalea Children's Book Festival.
We have established a channel of knowledge and culture with Geitonas Schools through educational activities between Astypalea schools and educational institutions.
We support the activities of Axion Hellas and +plefsi.
We provided a full scholarship for the 3-year undergraduate program "BA Hospitality Tourism and Event Management" in memory of our beloved grandfather and inspiration, Michael G. Palatianos, to a young adult from Astypalea, who joined our team through the Kallichoron Internship Scheme.
We continue to actively support our people who strive for continuous improvement and to fulfill their dreams.

Through the sustainable development program of Kallichoron, strategic partnerships are promoted with local educational institutions, non-profit organizations in Greece and abroad, and cultural associations. Through these partnerships, actions are implemented aiming at the continuous education of young people, the protection of cultural identity and heritage, the preservation of natural resources, mutual understanding, and ultimately the well-being of the local community. Organizations that offer support to the local community, especially in remote and inaccessible Greek islands, such as Axion Hellas and +plefsi.
The Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (HELMEPA) and its children's branch, "HELMEPA Kids," for pollution prevention, maritime safety, and environmental education.
The non-profit organization "Clean Hands" and the "GreenSoap" program for recycling hotel soaps and redistributing them to institutions and vulnerable groups.
Wayaj, the eco-travel application where travelers can choose sustainable and socially responsible accommodations worldwide and instantly offset their carbon footprint.
The "Bike Friendly Hotels" network, aiming to promote an alternative mode of transportation for travelers during their vacations in Astypalea by using bicycles.
The "Zero Waste HORECA" initiative aiming to improve the environmental footprint of businesses. The Circular Economy becomes a daily practice, contributing to a better and more sustainable future.
The oldest Greek environmental NGO, "Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature", so as to raise awareness among travelers about Greece's natural heritage through joint actions.
